The next thing I knew, she was walking into my office almost like a completely normal person. I didn't even recognize her at first...she was walking steady without any tremors and her voice was not quivering."

Who Are Simone and Elvis?

The characters of Simone and Elvis embody the modern day American dream. These characters, particularly the central character of Simone, was inspired by the amazing journey of a real life "throw away" cat who survived through the many obstacles and hardships that life threw at her with just a purr. A purr that echoed a sense of content, happiness and clarity.

Simone and Elvis are two adorable characters whose adventures are educational, informative and teach us all what is really important about life. This is a series that families and youth can enjoy and read over and over again.

Gail L. Wyatt, Ph.D.
Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences UCLA

In Simone and Elvis - Why Act Like a Mouse When You're Really a Cat?, a compilation of illustrated tales and inspirational quotes that explore everyday life lessons, Simone enlightens Elvis and his friends through their many adventures about the untapped power and potential we all have within us.

The writers and creators of Simone (R.G. Gaznabi and Jon C. Mejia) believe that her character reaches far beyond the realm of just fables and storytelling. Simone really symbolizes and represents a modern day guide that we all have inside us; a guide that can inspire us with a serene yet powerful sense of the many faces of reality.

You have taken Aesop's fables to another level. I am fascinated by the timeliness and broad appeal that cuts across all racial, ethnic, religious, and class lines. This universality and broad appeal of Simone and Elvis touches every human and humane emotion. The public is in for a great treat.

Berky Nelson Ph.D.
Director – Center for Student Programming UCLA
